The Kyoto Shimbun is apparently printed right nearby our house. I recall that many American newspapers can't afford the real estate in their home cities. So I think this is sort of cool. We watched them printing and loading up papers late one night.
You can read the full paper in a display case right outside. It was a great opportunity for Darrin to use his Rosetta Stone lessons. He kept booming, "Shimbun o yonde imasu!!!"
Just like home....happy birthday messages!
I also like this dude in his geta and neck towel. When it was super hot, Hugo put a damp towel around his neck and looked like a true Japanese fella.
